St George Marathon
Interesting Day, for the first time in 20 marathons, my feet got massively blistered, and early in the race at that. By mile 10 my left foot was bloody. I visited Aid stations at 13 and 16 to get patched, and hobbled for most of the second half. Completed the race in 4:10 on a day I expect I would have run about 3:25 with the heat conditions. Overall I'm satisfied as the running felt great, but the heat and the strange blistering sent my overall time sideways. I persevered and finished despite not wanting to. I expect I'll run Tucson next after a few weeks of downtime and thinking about it... |
